Cell Phone Video of Saddam Hanging

Updated: The first clip is footage that was aired on Iraqi television. It does not actually depict the hanging itself, rather it's an extended version of what you've seen on the news. The first half shows Saddam being fitted into his noose. The second half is footage of his body after the hanging.

The second clip is a cell-phone video circulating on the Web of the actual hanging. The quality is very low and it's not all that graphic, but discretion is advised. This clip has led to no small degree of controversy in the Arab-Muslim world (external link to story) because it shows guards taunting Hussein before his hanging, and Hussein is seen as defiant to the end, which has resulted in a sharp reversal, making him highly sympathetic to a large segment of the Iraqi audience.

    Third World Relief Agency

A recent story in the New York Times focused on the Third World Relief Agency, a Bosnian "charity" with links to the Saudi government on one hand, and to Al Qaeda on the other. For several months now, INTELWIRE has been studying the key document for that story as part of the documentary, Sarajevo Ricochet, a Norwegian TV production dealing with the war in Bosnia and its connection to terrorism. INTELWIRE's J.M. Berger is available for media outlets looking for someone who can knowledgeably discuss this document, Third World and its connection to Al Qaeda. You can contact him through the Multifaceted Media Group Web site.
